Lin-Manuel Miranda on 'In the Heights'

Boricua Lin-Manuel Miranda, star and creator of 'In the Heights', talks about the inspiration for his hit Broadway musical, nominated for 13 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Lead Actor and Best Original Score. The Tony awards will be announced tomorrow night.

First of all, congrats to Lin and all the cast of "In the Heights". Where was Lin born? I live in Puerto Rico and really hope you can bring it here!!! Please, please pretty please!!

Lin was born in New York City. He is of Puerto Rican-descent. Much less known is that he is also of Mexican heritage.

I know Lin has said he would love to do "In the Heights" in P.R. In the musical, he plays a Dominican character. He has family in Vega Alta.
