Lajas is a small town located in Puerto Rico's southwest. The town was founded in 1883 by Teodoro Jacome Pagan.

Lajas is famous for its main tourist attraction, Phosphorescent Bay, a place where luminescent dinoflagellates of different colors appear when the water moves. The origin of the colored lights is the object of many legends.

Where can I find out more about the founder of the town, Teodoro Jacome Pagan? I want to know if Jacome was his last name or middle name. Have read that he was from a Chueta background on Wikipedia and am trying to verify that information. Can you help?

I have the same question Ruth has, my father waS born 1894 Juan Pagan Jusino from Lajas, always said there was a picture of our ancestors in the Town Hall, I never paid attention to it, till I understood we are of Sephardi origin, would like to find out his birth and death dates.
