Salsa legend, Hector Lavoe, used to live on Bryant and Westchester Avenues in the Bronx. On Sunday, June 22, the street was renamed Hector Lavoe Way after El Cantante de los Cantantes . Family, politicians, Lavoe fans, and local residents celebrate the sunny summer day with a block party full of music, Puerto Rican flags, and love. Among those in attendance were Hector Lavoe's sister, his wife, Carmen, and son, Jose Alberto. Jose Alberto proudly showed off a replica of the street sign that he and his family cherish. The building Lavoe called home. Hector Lavoe's wife, Carmen, and sister enjoy the festival.
